The Centre administers three island research stations, each with research laboratories and accommodation, as well as an aquaculture facility near the St Lucia campus.

 

Two of the research stations are on the Great Barrier Reef (Heron Island and Low Isles) and the other (Moreton Bay Research Station) is located on North Stradbroke Island in Moreton Bay.
